Mardi Gras es un dúo formado por Gilberto Bueno (guitarra y voz) y Renata Bacal (voz, percusión y guitarra). Actuaron juntos por primera vez en 2010 y trabajaron durante 6 meses en resorts de la isla de Ibiza, España. Durante el próximo año y medio siguiente trabajaron para la misma compañía, Thomson-Tui en Lanzarote (España) y en Grecia.
Posteriormente, siguieron trabajando como dúo en cruceros. No sería la primera vez para ellos ya que Gilberto había trabajado como director de escena y técnico de sonido, y Renata como actriz y cantante de musicales y de teatro, actuando en producciones de Broadway y del West End llevadas a los cruceros.
Su primer trabajo como dúo en un crucero lo llevaron a cabo para la compañía P&O donde trabajaron durante 7 meses. Después de una pequeña parada en Grecia surgió otra invitación para subir a bordo, esta vez para surcar el Mediterráneo en el Island Escape de la compañía Royal Caribbean durante 4 meses.
Continuaron su periplo al ser contratados por otra agencia para embarcarse en uno de los más grandes navíos del mundo, el Norwegian Epic.
En 2014 han tenido la oportunidad de trabajar de nuevo para la compañía Thomson en Mallorca (España).
Es una formación muy versátil, cuentan con un repertorio de más de 290 temas que van desde canciones de los años 50 hasta la fecha, incluyendo todo tipo de estilos. En sus actuaciones usan backing tracks de gran calidad producidos por ellos mismos y también actúan formato acústico, siendo capaces de adaptarse al tipo de establecimiento y atmósfera.
Ambos componentes hablan portugués como lengua materna y dominan el inglés, español e italiano (éste último en un nivel más básico). El conocimiento de idiomas les ayuda a interactuar e involucrarse con el público, algo que consideran de gran importancia.
Es un dúo muy energético y entusiasta que conseguirá subir los ánimos de todo el público.

Renata es graduada en teatro musical y fue finalista del concurso Brazilian Idol. También ha participado en numerosas obras de teatro y televisión.

Gilberto es productor musical y compositor. Además de la guitarra también toca el bajo y la batería.

Ambos han vivido en Londres durante dos años donde han perfeccionado el inglés y han adquirido conocimientos sobre atención al cliente.

The duo is formed by Gilberto Bueno (Guitar /Voice) and Renata Bacal (Voice/ Percussion/Guitar) and has first performed together in 2010, when they have worked for 6 months on holiday resorts around the island of Ibiza, Spain. For the next year and a half, they worked for the same company, Thomson/Tui in Lanzarote in Spain and Greece.
After that, the duo went on to work on cruise ships. It would not be the first time for them since Gilberto used to work as a stage manager/audio engineer and Renata as a musical theatre singer/dancer, performing on Broadway and West End shows at sea.
Their first cruise job as a duo was for P&O cruise line, where they have worked for 7 months. After another quick stop in Greece, an invitation to move to another ship, sailing the Mediterranean came in. The ship was the Island Escape, a Royal Caribbean associated company. They have there, performed for 4 months.
They were then contacted by a different agency, which invited the duo to work in one of the biggest ships in the world, the Norwegian Epic.
In 2014 they have again worked for Thomson in Mallorca, Spain.
The duo is very versatile; with a repertoire ranging from the 50's to date with over 290 songs, including all kinds of styles. They perform with quality backing tracks produced by themselves, and acoustic, always adapting to the kind of venue and atmosphere.
Both members speak fluent Portuguese, as native language, English, Spanish, and basic Italian, which helps on interacting/engaging with the audience, which they consider to be of great importance during a performance.
